F.E.A.R. - Your Thoughts?

The demo rules. Scared my a few times, like when you go to climb down the ladder, and the girl is standing right in front of you, or the part where you are in the hallway and the door slams shut... I could go on and on.... great game.

F.E.A.R.... its engine is horrible, spilling bad fps everywhere, the engine is surpassed by x-ray in many many diffrent areas. gameplay is weak compared to others, overall bad. as for gameplay, thats my opinion, but the engine, is truly lame, and thats the fact jack.

FEAR= Prehistoric???? Please.... Stalker has better gameplay... ok sure. Did you download and play the WHOLE FEAR demo yourself?? I can go with you that the STALKER screens have better graphics, but I have to stop you when you said it has better shadows than DOOM 3?!?!?!? C'mon buddy, your f**king avatar is Doom and yet you are dissing it.... and the shadows in Stalker aren't even that great... Doom 3 was all about lighting, I know cause I have it and have beaten it many times, and those shadows and lighting effects in Stalker aren't even close... so please just lighten up. And about those FPS leaks, I'm not one of those people who are very anal about having 70+ FPS all the time.... just as long as it runs smooth and FEAR runs smooth.... also, you sound like a human advertisment for Stalker... is there even a demo for STALKER?? If there is- provide a link and I will download it. If there isn't, just shut the f**k up saying a game will be the next god even though you haven't even played it.

Also, just so your know, STALKER was supposed to come out over a year ago.... and personally, I don't look forward to games which have endless delays (i.e. Half-Life 2- I was very unimpressed and dissapointed)

sry but i dont get a boner of those tiny details. honostly i wouldnt mind if they stopped upgrading the graphics when they made doom3/halflife 2/farcry. instead they should spend more time making the gameplay leet. which farcry looks amazing at.

My point exactly, I don't give a sh*t how good the graphics are, if the gameplay sucks, then the whole game sucks. My point being- 1337cshacker: If there was a game about, say, painting a fence, the graphics and crap were great, but the gameplay was just painting a fence, would you pay $50 for that game just for the amazing graphics and the ability to brag that you have a game with "realistic physics and even small grass and stones, rendered real time" or would you rather have game that gets what it is meant to do done- be fun.

Stop spreading biased propaganda all over the forum cshacker. You sound like an advertiser for ATI and unreal. FEAR is gonna be awesome. And the engine is first rate, same engine which powered no one lives forever two, which has good graphics even by todays standerds.

i like the slomo concept, but i like a game with good graphics AND good gameplay,
this game doesnt seem to have that great of graphics....

Not all games are for everyone, as I can see from above. It all depends on the type of person he/she are, and the types of games a person plays.

IMO, F.E.A.R. is my type of game, overall. I simply loved HL2, and will definately buy HL2:Aftermath. I've always loved shooter games in the past, and Tom Clancy/UbiSoft completed it for me. Sierra has created one killer game, with an awesome plot on this game.

Graphics aren't everything. Not everyone has top of the line graphics cards and memory to run certain games. Take HL2 for instance; many people had to completely buy new computers, and/or upgrade many parts of their computer to simply run the game, because they didn't have even the minimum requirements to run the game.

Hardcore gamers will probably degrade this game even more, once the game hype has settled down. Until then (for the ones eagerly interested in F.E.A.R.) we wait until October comes around, so we can play a game that we will enjoy; not degrade.

i currently have the whole wing commander series and total anihalation installed on this pc, and I still like it really much ^_^

I've played Doom 3 on high graphics and HL2 on maxed so I can certainly see good graphics, and FEAR has GOOD GRAPHICS. I don't care what anyone says.

man i saw some of the in-game footage on www.ign.com and i was simply blown away im gonna do some crazy upgrading to my computer to run this bad ass game, possibly the next half-life? we will see

i played the demo the other day, and it scraed the shit outta me. i was really that week for some reason, probably change in drugs (perscribed). but yea, great graphics, gonna get it when it comes out.

With the system in my sig. if I max it out (like full anti- aliasing, etc.) it will lag like a b*tch, so I have to turn it down to high, not maximum.
