fail to disable Virtualbox check for update

file >preferences >Update
i uncheck the tick box and then press ok.
soon i open the update option again, it show me a tick again.

but the other option still works, i have no idea why?
me using windows 7 64 bit

i just fixed it.
first uninstall VirtualBox 4.2, second install VirtualBox 4.1.22
now i can disable check for update
