first computer build

hi i am planing to build my first computer this summer. i would like to keep it under 500 and be able to play battlefeild 3 and other fps shooters. any tips and recommendations would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance

$500 is going to be slim to play BF3 at decent settings. Are you using a monitor or TV? What resolution?
