Forgotten Admin Password in XP

This isn't a problem that needs solving, however, I have come across this issue throughout different websites and people asking me.

How do you reset your Administrator password on Win XP. When your at the logon screen (where you click the username & enter a password if you have set one) - if you press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice you will get a prompt screen up. From here you can logon as the Administrator.

Now, if you have forgotten the password, logon as another administrator (another account that has admin rights), and right click my Computer. Now select Manage (This opens the Microsoft Management Console, you can also open the MMC by typing "MMC" into the RUN option on the Start Menu). Click onto Local Users and Groups, then click onto Users. Location Administrator, right click and select Reset Password. Click Ok and then logout and try it.

I only mention this, because I have seen software that will do the same thing.. Hope this helps people..:)

No no no TFT, locked just because it was double thread. You can keep telling him, you told him it's via run, why don't you say the finish?

He's probably talking about the "net" command from the prompt. Fabulous, if you can log into an Admin account. Where people like me come in handy is where the computer is completely locked down. Then I hack them so I can log in. Thing is, people have to provide plenty of proof to me that it's their machine and they have legitimate reasons for doing so before I'll hack it for them.
