Future Proofing my Build

I'm looking into upgrading my Nvidia 9600GT to a Radeon 7950. I found a really nice Gigabyte model on Newegg for 300 that I'm looking at getting. It's a 7950, has 3GB on GPU memory, and has a 384-bit bus. I'm hoping this will last me several years into next gen gaming but was wondering if now is the best time to be purchasing a video card?

There's never a great time to purchase because new stuff is coming out constantly. Just go for it when you can and get the best thing which is available today. :good:

Honestly you're going to notice the difference between the 9600 GT and the 7950!

Now is a good time. The new Nvdia cards have come out and it has driven the price of most of the other cards down.

Just like Spirit said though, there is never really a perfect time to buy. Whatever you get now will be old in 6 months so get as much and you can afford and dont look back.
