Gmail SMTP password in Thunderbird

Hey, so I'm using my Gmail acoount in Thunderbird, but now all of a sudden it asks my password when I want to send an email, but after typing it in, it acts like as if I typed in the wrong password. Receiving mail is no problem, and I can still send emails if I use the standard Gmail on the internet. I already checked my settings in Thunderbird, but they seem to be ok, and it just happened all of a sudden, without me changing anything.
