Hacked e-mail?

Hi I just recently saw a message in my spam folder that was strange in that it had my e-mail address as the sender. I triple checked it to see if it was exactly the same and it was. I think the subject was something about a viagra discount.

There was also a message when I was logged into my email one time that said it was signing me out of Yahoo chat or IM or something because I was logged in at another computer.

So I changed my password and then still got another spam message from myself a few days later.

Any theories?

Also the messages don't appear in the Sent folder.

It is extremely easy to "spoof" an email address, it is used by spammers all the time to make it seem like an email is coming from somewhere else. It looks like someone may be doing that, but using your email address to make it look like you are sending it to yourself.

Although the logging in to another computer thing is a bit suspicious.

Yeah, like Dropkickmurphys said, it is easy to spoof an email address. But because of the signed in at two places thing, I would just change all of your passwords as a precaution,

I get emails from "myself" all the time, it's nothing to worry about, it's just a trick that spammers use to try and catch your attention. As for the being logged out thing, if it was just a single incident and you changed your password right afterwards, then I wouldn't really be worried about it.
