Help! Just added 12 gb of Ram but software wont Render quicker

I needed help trying to figure out why when I upgraded from 6gb to 12gb memory, after effects or cinema 4d won't render faster. do i just need to get a dual graphics card?

I'd imagine another graphics card (maybe a card specifically for rendering?) or a more powerful CPU.

RAM just allows you to virtually hold more things open at once, before you upgraded RAM did you ever open too many programs and then the computer slowed down, thats because your out of RAM. Typically they explain RAM as a table where you put your current work on. All you did was instal a bigger table, not a faster worker. For that you need a new Processor or Graphics card.

I didn't think the video card was involved for the rendering process. Like said processor. Im curious though. goto start, computer then right click properties and post the specs.
Ive done a lot of rendering before and only using 4gig of ram and a low end video card.
Its a Nivdia GeForce 7300 GT. But a quad intel and 7 pro. XP pro always worked well too.
