I've got about $500 to spend on this, I need mobo/cpu/ram. I've already decided on getting a corsair h50 cooler so that leaves me with $420.

I'm trying to decide whether to go with a phenom 1055t or a i5-750.
I do mostly gaming, photoshop and video editing, but would like to do some heavy overclocking with this setup. I would also like the option of crossfire in the future. I have a 5870 right now.

What would you guys recommend? I will be buying things from newegg and the mobo will have to be a open box to fit the budget.

I'd go Intel, but I might be biased because it's been years since I've run an AMD chip. I think the 750 would be the better gaming, (and probably OCing), chip by a good margin. The 1055's gonna be better for editing. Your call - If 750, I'd go with something like this,

I5-750, $195

4 GB G-SKILL 1600 (8-8-8-24), $92

GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 LGA, $130

No way I'd buy an open box MB. There's got be a reason it was returned.

I've never had an issue with any open box from Newegg, i've bought my last two mobo's that way. No issues. I also bought an open box Western Digital wdtv live, no issues with that either. They "say" they test them, whether or not i don't know, but they still offer a return policy.

ANyways, that setup looks really good. Is the 4gb enough these days?
