help please

hey guys,
im having a problem..my monitor keeps shutting off and goes completley blank.the orange button turns on.it won't come back on.ive tryed a few different monitors ands its the exact same.

im thinking its the gpu overheating.
any other ideas?? can anyone give me a little list of what it could be.

also the pc itself doesn't turn off

maybe its your power cord, it might be messed up, so try using different power cords, other than that I dont know

hmm I just thought of something, try using another video card or just using your onboard video card, see if that works

Do you get video for a while after your computer turns on, and then it goes blank, or did this happen, and now you can't get it to display video at all? If it's that it happened once, and now you don't get video any more, it could be that the video card was jostled out of the slot. Sounds like the monitor's fine. I'd look at the video card, make sure it's snug in it's slot, and make sure the video card's fan turns on when your computer has power (I had the same problem, except it was caused by a dead video card; probably killed by heat after the fan went out).
