alright, its kinda complicated, i hear some noises, for example, music, music in games, some sounds, but theres also some sounds that are missing, for example, in WoW, i dont hear the character fighting, in trackmania, i hear the music, but not the car sound, i tried to play a movie, i hear the music, the gunfires, but i cant hear them talking ... its really frustrating , oh yeah and i hear people talking on ventrilo, but i cant hear the sound when i connect / disconnect, or when i change of room.

im currently using windows vista 32 bit, i tried reinstalling my drivers, the audio VIA HD audio deck for windows vista, i installed it, but nothing changes, im having realtek pcie gbe family controller. i just cant figure it out ... really pissing me off :( if some1 could help, thatd be VERY appreciated

You may be missing some codecs, installing K-Lite may fix it.

Just out of curiosity, though: what speakers/headphones are you using? I had a similar problem with a pair of earbuds I got with my phone, turns out it apparently filters out stuff when plugged in a device other than the phone, and I still haven't figured out why it does it.

I'm guessing it's a left, right or center channel issue in your computer's audio settings. A lot of the time, main sounds, like dialog, etc., are made to go through the center channel and other sounds through the left and right channels. So if your audio balance is off, it could cause certain sounds to not come through. What kind of speaker setup are you using? 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, other?
