IE 11..won't install on win 7 64 bit

Hi

I had trouble installing updates on my computer after a reformat..Downloaded fix it tool and everything is up to date but when i try an install IE 11 i get message operating system not supported even though i download ..IE 11 for win 7 64 bit,,auto update fails also

I would say you have a corrupt install. How did you reinstall windows? Do you have a genuine reinstall cd? or did you use a recovery partition?

Go to command prompt (run as an administrator)

type (with spaces)

sfc /scannow

Let it finish, restart

Then try Windows Update.

I had a problem similar to this on a couple of occasions. If I remember correctly, one one occasion, I had to install the next version as to what I had and then do the next version to get where I wanted to be. The other occasion, I just went to updates and let it update itself, which did the same thing. Keep updating until you get all updates done. Hope this helps.
