I have windows xp installed already but my other computer says "insert system boot cd" just to boot and access my log in screen.
everything is installed already and i dont see the point in me having to put in my system cd thing in.

i have to put in my XP cd everytime i turn the pc on just for it to load to the log in screen and to access the computer. etc..

any suggestions for me to NOT put the cd in just to load?
anyway i can load without the cd?

thanks :D

Sounds like you have either a partial install or a weird funky OS problem, or you didn't install an OS?

I would back up data, wipe, reload, and then see what happens.

well i think i had 2 hard drives on it and 2 partitions or something and then i deleted one (d: i think ) and then deleted the other one (c:) and then i re-installed xp onto c: local disc. again then let it continue.

when it finished it said u need the cd to boot.

Try to use SFC scan this may solve your issue . But for this you need a windows operaing system CD .

Is there any data you need to salvage off this?

You can try to rebuild the needed boot files from the recovery console.
