Im using this set-up for a minecraft server that will soon be holding up to 50 players (might soon be expanding to more).
I have the HDD's, monitor, case already.

Heres the parts Im going to buy:
CPU:

Mobo:

RAM: (Plan to upgrade to 8gigs in the future)

PSU: (I know its crappy, I dont want a lot of power drawn and my budget is REALLY low)

Just wanna make sure this stuff will work together no problem :)
I plan to use the stock CPU cooler, disable the 3rd core and OC to 3.6ghz+ (since MC only uses one core)

Its all compatible. The importance of buying a good PSU is when it goes bad, it can take everything with it.

Like said, you need a new power supply, even on a budget. And PSUs only take power when they need it. A 1000w psu would take the same amount of power compared to a, say, 650w on the same system. That one you chose would probably draw more power than a quality one, due to the inefficiency of it. I'd go with this corsair at least:

Rebate puts it down to $25, then a $8 off promo code makes it $16. Spend the extra $5, please. lol.

Alright, ended up getting the PSU reccumended by you guys, turned out to be cheaper than the other due to free shipping :D
I got the 455, corsair ram, and a different mobo. I was about to make my final purchase when I say this deal. The board has faster hypertransport speeds, and more maximum ram (12 gigs)

All for 5$ cheaper with free shipping saving me 11$!
Total purchase ended up being 146$ (after rebates) I didnt think it was possable!

Thanks!

EDIT: Okay one last thing, when I get the cash from donations, im going to buy a case, the mobo is microATX so I want the smallest case I can get. Only future upgrades for this machine will be another stick of RAM and if I retire the server, I small 60$ GPU, but I doubt it.. Max price is around 40$

Just a little bit of my two cents (comming from minecraft server experience). You're going to want to get a better PSU, like everyone is suggesting. I kept my server up and running 24/7, and of course, a cheap PSU like the DiabloTek that "you were" going to get would not cut it at all.

As for the processor, the processor is plenty for running a server.

Memory wise, you're going to want to upgrade that 4gb of memory ASAP. Minecraft is very Memory intensive when running a server, and the more, the better.

Anyways, good luck with the server, and make sure to let us know the ip so we can come and join you :D.

P.S. Once your server gets known (if it does), makes sure to ask for donations and offer things that your players can buy with money. Sure helped me cover the cost of my server.
