The thing is prices is Australia are alot different to America even after the converstion.
eg. The computer in my sig was nearly AU$2,500 a couple of months ago and that was built by the guy at the local computer shop you could probably get that for a grand in the US

thats not cheap at all...you can build a much muhc better computer for that money...

You can do much better than that.

For under $1500AUD, you can get a prebuilt system with an E6300, 7900GS, 250GB HDD, and 19" Widescreen LCD. If you're willing to built yourself, you should be able to do better still.
