It is a new thing that AMD is coming out with, it is called 4x4, which allows you to use 2 Dual-Core CPU's. But AMD is also coming out with Quad-Cores, which BigPimp was refering to, known as the K8L.

Server motherboards on can have up to 4 or more processors, a motherboard on newegg for example supports 4 dual-core processors.

i believe AMD's quad core was going to be produced with the K8 architecture was it not? i could be wrong...
K8L is planned for 2k7 i believe, and claimed to have double the floating point score compared with the K8 architecture.
