laptop works but screen only lights up

Hi there,

Everytime i start my laptop, it starts like normal, but the 17" screen doesn't have an image on it, it's lighting up black, it doesn't even display the DELL logo when i press the power button.

So... whats the cause of this problem?

So it's not starting normal

Have you tried connecting it to an external monitor to see if the LCD panel is bad?

right now i'm using a external monitor, a Philips 150C to be precise, it's just normal starting, i used the BIOS system diagnostics, it errored at the LCD Connection Test, tried to reconnect the LCD connector, but no succes

So that means you need to replace the LCD panel.
