Looking for a suitable Desktop Environment

I recently got a very old computer and I want to get it up and running. It has a mobile AMD Athlon XP-M 2000+ 1,53Ghz processor and has 224 MB of RAM. Which will be the best Linux Desktop Enviroment to get it up and running? Can I install GNOME on this specs???

Any 32 bit version of Linux will run well on it.

With that little RAM, I would not go with anything "heavier" than LXDE.
You may want to look at
CrunchBang-10-i486
antiX-M8.5-i486
Zenwalk-6.0-i486
Just click on the i486 link on the distrowatch page for each.

I'd stay away from Gnome and most certailny, KDE! (This is from my experience, only)
