Memory Upgrade

Hello there,

I'd like to upgrade the memory on my computer.
I want to install DDR3 2x4GB memory @ 1600 MHz
The MB says this: Support for DDR2 1333+/1066/800/667 MHz memory modules

Does the memory count as 2x800 MHz?
Does it matter it's DDR3?
Currently I have 2x333,33 MHz (667 MHz) which is slow

What is the exact model of motherboard you have?

DDR3 modules will not work in a motherboard that only supports DDR2 memory. They are notched differently and won't fit.

If your motherboard supports DDR2, that's all you can use.

DDR2 memory is very expensive as it's outdated, 8GB will cost you $180 (versus $65 for 8GB of DDR3)

Actually cheaper to buy 2 sets of 2x2gb for ddr2. You can corsair value ram for $65 so would be total of $130 compared to $200 for 2x4gb.
