microsoft server

no matter what i try to download from the microsoft website, it won't let me. i have to download them from alternate sources. but like when i try installing the .net frameworks it cant access microsoft's server. i am using a clean install xp system, but the firewall isnt blocking it.

is it a legit copy of xp ? where you able to get updates for the OS...IF NOT look for an error code. you might have to add the microsoft sites to your trusted sites ...ie https. Look for am error code if you can not download updates.
