I am using a laptop Compaq EVO N410C and my clock on the system tray is always running behind no matter how many time I fixe it and still running behind - I thought that the problem could be with the battery of the mother board am I correct or their is any other solution ? If I am correct do you know how I could replace it ? Can I do that by my self ?

Is that laptop older? If so, yeah, it's probably the battery. Have you ever gotten any BIOS Checksum errors or anything like that?

Well, there's a separate battery for the onboard/system clock that is separate from the other components of the computer. After the 4+ years of having it, it wouldn't be surprising if the battery is dying.

Yeah, I sometime seem to have that problem too. And it only goes behind in hours, not minutes. And sometimes mine changes time even when i dont reboot...=\
