Need a Boot up cd Window 7

My laptop will not boot up and I do not have a boot up CD. I have a windows 7 re-installation DVD from another PC. Is it possible to boot up from that CD? My Laptop is an HP while the DVD if from a Dell PC. Any comments that might help are appreciated.

In a nutshell No.

On branded Windows 7 systems, like Dell and HP, these days, all operating systems come pre-installed so therefore they would have to be recovery disks which are not worth a cent in this situation.

If you have not made any recovery disks when you got the HP box then get onto HP for some more disks, they will cost you however.

Thanks. I just found out the hard drive is bad.

If you do a google search for "LIVE CD" you will find lots of bootable OS programs free. They basicly act as a OS on the Disc allowing you to repair Hard Drive issues. If your looking for a backup, go to search and type recovery It will load the recovery burner. This will allow you to burn 1 recovrey disc once.
