need good power supply old one died

when i first bought the diablotek mentioned in my signature i never knew it was on the bad list on this website so now its dead may it rest in pieces.

other then that i need a new power supply my video card is the geforce 260 GTX i need something with at least 36 amps on 12v rail not sure what to do about this tho cuz all the psu im looking at say at least 18 amps on maybe 4 12v rails and im not sure if i should get something with so many 12v rails or just stick to something with single 12v rail with 36 amps or higher

ok the thing is i dont think i can get a corsair psu cuz they are expensive i mean i need a 650 watt but i need good ampage i need 2 6 pin pci express connectors from the psu plus i need alot of good extra cables cuz most my stuff needs SATA hookups as well as regular power hookups cuz i gonna need the 4 pin poewr connectors for my fans since my mohterboard doesnt have any fan connectors so i have to run fans directly from psu so i just need something that can power my video card so i wont miss a beat ya know umm also need something that may very well have some longevity to it if not longevity id like a estimate of how long some of theirs last if you can say how long some of yours have laslted you or anything that be good. so yeah from experience im not getting another diablotek somebody recommended it to me i thought it was good cuz it had 36 amps guess i was wrong cuz that thing didnt last a year

A single rail isn't always better, and Cooler Master don't sell all that good power supplies. They are ok, but not compared to other companies that make "the best"

Ultra is a Tigerdirect house brand. Like Rosewill is at Newegg. Have no idea if its any good or not, dont know who makes it.

For a 650W power supply is pretty low on watts on the 12V rail. Only 450W on the 12V.

would that be enough to power my video card cuz it says its got 38 amps and i hear my card needs at least 36 on the 12v rail i doubt i can overclock my video card with that psu but i wont be overclocking the card cuz i dont want to drain the psu but i really wanted the cooler master 650 g series but they didnt have that available on tigerdirect or newegg today

And Cooler Master units aren't very good at all. They aren't bad, but that doesn't meant they are particularly good either. They do have a couple of half decent units though

Yeah, at one time Solytech/Youngyear/ATNG and Wintech made Rosewill and SevenTeam/Andyson/Youngyear and Wintech made Ultra. They change manufactures so much its hard to tell.

I've heard everything but the 1000w is crap(and that was a year or two ago, so I have no idea how they are now).

well my budget was under the 90 dollar bracket for now but i really chose the ultra becaus of the lifetime warranty and the fact that i needed a power supply kinda badly being that the old one was a diablotek 650 but i may buy a back up psu that may be even better then the ultra eventually but i needed the ultra cuz the price range on it was good but then i seen some of you had some things to show that had a decent price range as well so i really like the recommendations you all have been giving me plus i chose the ultra cuz i wanted to rush ship it so they can ship it out soon as possible to my door cuz i cant wait to get my main computer running again with the specs in this signature by the way thats my main just need to upgrade it a bit and change the psu i have on here

well why is ultra in the recommended in the http://www.computerforum.com/90116-psu-good-bad-list.html i was going by that it was in the psu good bad list it was under the good side

so i went with ultra by that choice since they moved the psu i really wanted to get which was that cooler master but i didnt know they canceled the sale and made it unavailable on some of the sites and the price spiked since then

A single rail isn't always better...

Almost all domestic PSUs are single rail, regardless of the electronic split in to 'multi rails'. Single rail over these psuedo multi-rail designs are always better.
