NTFS4DOS... does anybody know what this is? I know what NTFS is and I know what DOS is, but what's NTFS4DOS? I've found some things about it but nothing to tell me exactly what it is for.

Thanks.

NTFS4DOS is a modified DOS OS version which can read FAT,FAT32 and NTFS file system partitions.It is great peace of software.Just burn it to the blank CD-ROM disk,boot from it and then just choose what you want to use.Such as:

Pure DOS (for FAT and FAT32 file system partitions)

or

NTFS4DOS (for NTFS file system partitions)

I like it a lot and saved me many troubles many times.Of course you MUST know how to work with DOS.

It looks like this:

Used it many times. Its old school and long ago.
Good in the day but not needed now unless your computer is 20 yrs old.
let it go.

NTFS4DOS is an utility that lets you access NTFS partitions under DOS. It is very convenient if you have a dual boot DOS/NT system because it eliminates the need to transfer files since dos can just read directly from the NTFS partition(s).

Hell, i'm about to try it on my dos machine, if it works well i might start using NTFS instead of FAT32 (I use DOS 7.1 w/ Win 3.11 for workgroups on that machine) :)
