pci-e riser cable

I hope someone can give me some info on this.

I want to build a wall mounted HTPC something like this but obviously not so extravigant


but the main thing is the gpu i want the same mount. but i saw a few options and just want to know if they would do the same job

here is the normal cable I've seen


but now ive seen this one witch is for mining computers witch im clearly not interested in but can it be used for a htpc

Im not quite sure how the second one wodks, but I have used the first one in a Silverstone RvZ01 case. Works with 0 problems
