Phenom ii x2 555 heat question

I have the 555 it can unlock an extra core and is stable, but I keep it turned off for now (I don't like the stock heatsink). It idles at about 28c and max is 31c while gaming. I havnt ran Prime with it yet and the games I play arent that taxing.

My question is, what is the heat limit on the Phenom dual cores? Im guessing its 65c like the quads are but i cant seem to find the info anywhere.

I have it overclocked @ 3.6ghz for fun with the volt at 1.38. Even then its peak heat while gaming was 38c after 2 hours. This is with the garbage heatsink it came with.

I couldn't find it from the specs on AMD's website but a few threads on the AMD forums said it was 62c.

okay, so even overclocking on the stock heatink (40c max) is okay then I guess. I think ill get the CM hyper 212+ just for the hell of it couldn't hurt

Good choice for a cooler. You won't be disappointed.
