question about ASUS Xonar Essence STX

thinking about buying it, but i see a lack of updates of the drivers, and was wondering if it was possible to use windows 8 drivers with windows 7 ultimate 64 bits

Why use Win8 drivers on Win7? Logic is beyond me...

But the Asus Xonar Essence STX is amazin'. A mate has it and I was about to steal it from him lol.

because asus hasn't release new drivers for windows 7 since june 2011

That's because they're not needed.

Asus drivers have been solid for me on my Xonar D1,as far as i know...most windows 7 drivers will work fine in Windows 8 anyway.

There's also custom drivers you can use. I've been using them for a few months with no issues.
