Question about RAR, ZIP, and 7-Zip

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what the compression rates are for .rar, .zip, and .7z files. Also, does anyone know of a free archiver? From what I understand, .7z and .rar both have fairly equally high compression rates, but are slower than .zip. I would prefer higher compression over speed any day though. Thanks for the help!

The best so far is kbd but winrar is very common. With kgb you can compress a 700mb file down to 64kb, no joke!! It takes for ever though and you need a good processor to handle it. For average use i would use winrar! You can compress the file down to half the size of the original with winrar, usually. Depends on the file type though. Media like music and vids cannot be compressed very much at all though. KGB is way better at compressing large files but is time consuming. Winrar is free for 30days and KGB is freeware! Heres both sites.
