Hi, everyone !!

I confused a little bit about the installation and upgrade windows. So I using Windows XP Home edition but I wan to upgrade to Windows XP professional. But I heard somebody...said that " must re-format the pc before install windows and can't directly install it when home edition still remain"

Is it true? Then how about the product key? After i upgrade my pc to WinXP Pro, is my previous home edition product key able to use on other pc? (is it required access to internet to deactivate the previous product, and then only can activate product key for other pc?)

Processor Intel Pentium 4 2.66Ghz
Windows XP home edition SP2
256 RD-RAM
ATI Radeon 9500 pro/9700
CD-ROM Drive
16XDVD/CD Combo Drive

No, you don't have to format if your home copy is working fine, you just update. And no, your home key will not work on pro, you need a pro key.

I'd just install home on the other PC if it says it's illegal just call microsoft and explain what happened and they will reactivate it.
