OK, so basically the same as the Hot deals thread, only you've got to post things you think the prices on are absolutely outrageous/highly overpriced. Please state what country the Rip-Off apply to. I'll start:
http://www.okgodigital.com/intel-pe...set-of-8-precision-screwdrive-7351-p.asp:eek:
Pentium G6950 for the price of an i3-540: google said this was an australian site, but the prices are in pounds, so UK I think. (unless they do international shipping), Next:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=397083
HD 5670 for the price of upper-priced HD 5770s - UK - maplin are good for electronic bits and bobs, and PC toolkits, but their actual components are rip-off in general. That's just two, there are tons more, so get posting:D
And we'll see what the biggest rip-off is.

for that price they should at least include some sort of watercooling setup. they could just get 2 5970s, watercool them, and oc the HELL out of them.

oh, and $500 on a case?

absolutely. 7 tb of hdd space? are these gamers recording every session with fraps?

12 gb of ram? not quite as over the top as others, but still over the top.

2 bluray drives? well, that's an inhale-through-teeth thing. i guess if they watched a lot of bluray movies and burned a lot of large files on bluray disks it would be something they'd actually need...

and then after all of that, they slap a noctua nh-u12p on it :p

nevertheless, i do wish i had $7,000 to spend on a computer :( not that one though...

Here's another UK scam - maplin's components:mad:!:

Just about every item on this page is rip-off:p

Bearing in mind the pound is stronger than the dollar:eek:
I'd say American prices (the numbers, not even converted) are cheaper than that.

Maplin have always been super expensive,I really dont know how they stay in business.

But you always see the place packed

As for ripoffs, not seen anything thats just super rediculas for quite a bit,However what isnt a ripoff in the UK?

The LGA 775 processors on Ebuyer such as the (Q9650) are a ripoff,£267 for a dead skt processor!

Nearly every item at BestBuy.com

frikkin' this

Although, the best-buy edition of the Asus G73 is pretty awesome. Got to play with one a couple of days ago...it's probably the most solid laptop chassis I've ever seen, barring industrial models. Almost no flex at all, without significant pressure.

Just discovered that feared non-active moderator Dragon2309 works for maplin!

I think he's just lost a bit of respect. Not that I'd want to anger him.
