Some Questions

Hello.

I am looking for a budget laptop, preferably at under £500. But I want as much RAM and processor power as I can get.

I found that the best deals by far are for reconditioned or refurbished laptops. At first this sounded like a bad idea to me, but after reading this I am not sure:

http://www.laptopadvisor.com/refurbished-laptops.html

Aparrently they are just new laptops with a faulty part, returned and after the part being replaced and tested they are sold cheaply as reconditioned since they can't be sold as new.

I also have another question, are Advent a reputable and good company? I found some good laptops and the Advent has the best specs, but Compaq, Sony and other companies have a reputation but I haven't really heard of Advent. Are they well built, good quality and not tacky?

Also, which one of these is best:

most of the times these laptops don't have the full warranty they usually have. read up on the site your buying it from and/or from the manufacturer.

Haven't heard anything about advent so i really can't tell you anything about it.
I'd rather have a laptop from a well established brand name so i wouldn't recommend going with advent.

As for the 4 laptops. The last link doesn't work. I would recommend the advent. I don't have good experiences with compaq, and the compaq has got slightly less cpu power. So i'd go with the fujitsu siemens. I've got good experiences with them and the specs look ok for the price they're asking.

I personally don't like refurb. laptop.
Have a look at this Acer.
Just £484 with T7300/2GB RAM/160GB HDD. Better choice than the Advent.

Or this Fujitsu Siemens
£510 with T5550/ 2GB RAM/ ATI HD2400/ 120GB
