My computer has started to take a lot longer to start up lately and the monitor even longer sometimes not at all.
Can anyone help?

try running the msconfig utility (start > run) and go to the startup tab and disable everything except your antivirus or stuff you want to run when you turn the computer on.

While in msconfig it would be worthwhile to disable any unecessary services, as well as configuring how many cores windows uses during startup (boot tab > advanced > numproc)

just hit apply and reboot after that, you should notice an improvement.

+1. If you are not sure what to disable please post it so we can help you with that. :)
