strange floppy drive

hi can any1 help me please.
at my place of work there is a computer that is acting really strangly.when you copy a file to disk and then insert a new formatted disk the contents of the first disk will be on the old 1. even if there is data on the 2nd it will automatically erase it creating the contents of the first disk.

sorry if i sound confused a bit, ive never seen anything like it.
is it a problem with memory?

are you leaving the disk directory listing open when you switch the disks? if so you have to refresh (F5)
