Strange Wireless Problem

Hello,

I have a Belkin Wireless 802.11g router with ADSL modem. Two computers connect to it - one is wired the other is wireless.

The wired one connects using a standard Ethernet cable and the wireless one uses a Belkin 802.11g USB dongle thing.

My problem is that the wireless computer can only connect to the network if I plug a wireless dongle into the wired computer.

MAC Address filtering is disabled and it uses WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption, but I have tested it without the encryption and it still has the same problem.

Please help!

Thanks,

Tom

you need to check your configuration of your wireless router by accessing it on your wired computer. in a URL address block, type 192.168.1.1, and check to make sure that your MAC address for your wireless computer has ever popped up and has been seen by your router. Check to make sure that you are in infrastructure mode with no computer dependencies, not ad-hoc mode
