Well supposing you did have a front panel jack for sound...it should have a cable hanging off the back of it in the case with a 2x5pin header connector on the end...or a bunch of single pin headers. This plugs into a Header socket/pins on the M/B which should be labeled something like "F_AUDIO"...refer to your M/B manual for exact spot.I don't have a front panel, And I don't wanna buy a new sound card.
I never used a front panel before, Where do you connect it in the mobo ?
If it is a Jack thats broken...you should be able to replace it provided you can find a matching one(basic ones cost about $2) and if you know how to use a Soldering Iron.If not in the broken jack, the I could get one. Would be cheaper than another sound card !
Could still be a problem with the Jack itself, however it could also suggest a problem with the Audio Hardware section on the MB.EDIT: something weird happened right now the sound came back, I didn't touch the computer!!!
Oh wait... it keeps coming and going ..... !!!
What's up with thaT?
Power problem ?
