Tab doesn't advance to the next text box in Windows Explorer?

As most of you know, when you edit a file name in Windows Explorer, or pretty much anywhere in Windows, it advances to the next text box. However, I just reinstalled XP from Vista and when I hit the tab button, it just puts a lot of spaces in the text box.

Example:

Poi|son.mp3

<tab>

Poi son.mp3

instead of advancing to the next song's text box.

Any ideas how to fix this?

No, I mean, I want it to go to the next file name, not the next character.

I thought maybe it was a bad install, so I erased it and reinstalled it and it still doesn't work.
