Upgrade my laptop

I have a newish laptop with a 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo, 2gb ram, 256mb nvidia graphic card, stacks of memory but I still cant play all of the fast games like transformers so what should I upgrade?

It would down to the graphic card in most cases to determine if you can play game.
And you could not upgrade graphic card in laptop by yourself.

Some of the newest high end laptops have easily changeable GPU's, just like changing RAM.

But daisy is very right, it's near on impossible to do it yourself, and only few cards will be compatible.

Ok some of the games work and I can play them but they lag.

The 256mb nvidia graphic card is not enough. You will probably need at least 512mb but yes, it's impossible to upgrade them. Laptops are not really design for those kind of games. They're just good for the old pacman.
