XP is installed on my parents PC.

If I install the same XP on to my PC.

Would anything go wrong? Or would Microsoft be none the wiser?

it's not legal to do so, as you need a seperate license per computer.
it's not something we talk about on here.
you can install it but not activate it so it will only work for 30 days, so you need another license.

That's why I am talking theoretically. I know it's against the law, I was merely wondering what would happen if I did it?

The install would go ahead.
You would be asked for activation and if you did'nt bother then after a number days XP would cease to work.
If you attempted activation then two machines would be known to be operating on one licence key and XP would go the same way as above.

As said above, just talking about this is enough for the thread to be closed, which I'm sure it will be.
