Try to keep this below $200:

With price matches I can get that down to $180 and get free shipping with $10 gift card. I believe I have some old IDE HDD's back at home I could throw in there. Think this would do fine for simple day-to-day computing (email, surfing, microsoft office, etc.)? Or can I go even cheaper?

Comes with the case. Also may have an extra one laying around back at home. I assume I don't need anything great to run it.

For that price range and general computing, I think that would work just fine. Everything goes together well.

your just at 200$ but what about a harddrive, dvd/rom drive?

I did realize also that there is no drive, but I can get one for $17 and I did mention I believe I have some old HDD's back at home I could put in. With price matching I can get those 4 + the drive for just under $200 after tax so I think I'm going to go ahead and order it!

Edit: Oh and i do already have OS software to put on so no need for that either.

Invest in something half ok for the power supply, even with a load that small you run a high chance of that power supply failing on you...
