Can you help me with this...

got a computer with very low sound output and the "advanced options (bass and treble)" on the volume controls are disabled!
the computer's running on win xp ... 3.0 intel processor .. genx p4m800m ... onboard drivers are c-media drivers ... motherboard. i have tried formatting nd re-installing windows but same problem ... very low sound output, like whispers and yet all controls are full!

using a different soundcard only results in the same problem!

If you don't know the answer to the above question, the easiest way to tell is if you have to plug it into a wall for power. If it is plugged in, it has an internal amplifier, if not then it doesn't.

Try plugging them into a different device such as an mp3 player and see if they are still quiet. If they are then it is an issue with the speakers, if they work fine in another device, it is a computer problem.
