Video Card Problems

I moved my ATI Radeon 9800 SE from an old computer to a new one. Now when I am playing some games, mostly RTS's like JTF and Battle for middle earth 2 the screen goes blank and the computer is froze. And i have to restart. Does any one know what is wrong?

When you moved the old Radeon card into the next case what version of Catalyst did you install? The last version that was suitable was the 5.14 while the 5.11 was the bast for gaming. http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1269&file=4&evp=7314b3ef12dd94907e7063f79ec0ca14 is one site with the older driver sets.

If you trying to run with the latest 7.1-7.3 those are Vista ready drivers there. The last one without gaming was the 6.5. Go for the 5.11 after removing anything higher. Also make sure the slot is clean and the card is down fully. Depending on how long you have been using the card it may showing signs of wear as well.
