Vista Logout Help

Hey

Ok - I have recently had this problem with Vista I need to solve.

Whenever I start my computer I get the normal login screen where I can click on a user, type the password then log in.

This is all fine, then when I am done I can press log out or switch user to get back to this screen.

However, when I do this now I get a completely black screen with no mouse or anything - so I can't log into any accounts or do anything and I have to power off.

Any help?

Have you installed Service Pack 2?

The think you need to take note of is weather you can enter the task manager.

if you can then the problem is very simple. Explorer.exe is not shutting down. this could be becasue somebody or something is using it still.

will it stay like that forever. until you power off manually.
