What is 7200.9?

Hi folks!

I have a 7200.7 SATA hard drive - i just wanna know the difference between that and a brand new 7200.9 HDD

if you think .2 RPM's will make a difference, then sure :)

It sounds like it's the model number, and no, theres really no difference in terms of performance.

i say for the sake of not arguing over this, the OP should try and find the specs of his 7200.7 and simply compare them to the drive he's considering, and see if there's any difference at all.

I don't think the suffix means anything, i'm almost positive it's simply the model number, or possibly the version of the controller

Any difference in RPM is coincidental. Those are just model numbers hence the 7200.10 being AFTER 7200.9 :p

I know, I was just playing games with him, hence the reason why I said it was part of the model number in the next line :p
