pentium 4 is better at multitasking and amd is better at gaming

AMD chip's have a lower clock speed cause they do more things per clock than P4's , or somthing like that, and that statement above is mostly true but a AMD X2 would multitask quite well...

from a technical point of view the differences are numerious and complex, but i think you mean more general than that.
