Windows 7 Search Engine Question

It took me about 3 days to get used to Windows 7 and I love it. There's only 1 thing I'm a bit lost on:

1. Is it possible to still get the standard search engine that was on XP and below?

2. If not, how do you get the search on Windows 7 to for example list the file size? How do I get Windows 7 to list all the files modified in a period of time?

In each window just click once in the search box (top right-hand side) and he will give you options like "date modified" and "size"
Is that what you are looking for?
