xbox problem

hey i have a problem with my xbox it keeps saying unable to read disc either damaged or scratched and it does it on nearly all games and skips the music in all games is the lazer f****d or do i just need to clean it
anyone had the same problem

When did u get this xbox? was it one of the first ones produced?

you might have the common problem with the thompson drive in the first xboxs made.
