Anyone with a 8 series card (Preferbly 8800GT),please post your temps just so i can compare mine.

also what cooler you have on it,And what settings

Mine

Settings:

GPU Clock (Geometric Domain) 602 MHz (original: 600 MHz)
GPU Clock (Shader Domain) 1512 MHz (original: 1500 MHz)
Real Clock 900 MHz (DDR) (original: 900 MHz)
Effective Clock 1800 MHz
Bandwidth 56.3 GB/s

Temps

Idle:41c

Load:58-61

Cooler: Asus Glaciator (All copper)

Sorry this is a NONE Ati friendly post,im not a Nvidia fanboy i just dont need to know ATI temps.

thanks people!!!

hey dude i dont have an 8 series, but if ur gunna oc...dont let the temp go over 60 C.

your kidding right?

gpu temps are nothing like a cpu.

even 80*C is fine for a gpu. 100 even.

they will start getting damaged at ~120*C

anyway mine has 2 gpu temps 93*C and 85.3*C
and the PCB temp is 70*C.

i dont like it let it go 100.
the fan speed is on auto and im folding with my graphics card which is why its so hot.

all clock speeds are standard.

fan speed is on 53% at the moment.

WOW that is runing hot, yeah i know gfx cards run alot hotter than anything else.
what cooler does yours have? just the standard XFX?

And i am planning on overclocking soon,i have the advantage because my card runs so cool.

yeah the standard one. its been folding constantly... im not sure why its that hot though. but i dont really care. it can manage.

how far do you think o could OC my card? as you can se from my settings its oc a tiny bit,why hte heck they only went a few mhz i do not know because it wouldnt make any difference :P

my temps are very low compared to many ive seen, using Asus smartdoctor to read temps.

XFX 8600gt XXX Zalman @ 700mhz (stock = 680mhz)

Idle = 41-43
Load = 50-55

I have the same card and my temps are:

46-54C Idle

64-70C Load

I think its because my Dell case is BTX so the HSF is drawing hot air from my Netburst room heater (see sig) instead of drawing cool air from the bottom of the case. Eh, can't change that I guess.

well i can OC to 700mhz stable for the core clock.

anything over wont work. which is kinda funny. you'd expect it to become not stable with artifacting before it wont work. mine seems to have a shut-off point haha.

usually oc the memory to 925 in rivatuner.

why are my temps so high above everyone elses? haha
obviously my gpu is working full time at full load. but still...
i have an intake and exhaust fan working nicely.

tomorrow i might fix an 80mm fan to the side vent to draw air from the gpu area.. will that help?
should i get the hot air out? or blow air onto the gpu?

On my case the side panel opening for the fan is straight across from the video card and i have a 120 blowing right on it.

mine has a fan placing, aimed at the cpu. and a vent. for the video card. ill have to like glue the fan on... so blowing at it will work best?

You could probably get one to work on the lower vent for the card if any of the vent holes line up with the fan holes. You really only need 2 screws to hold it, one on each opposite corner.
