GTA IV Recommended Requirements Revealed

I came across this, looks like we shouldn't have much problems running GTA IV :D:D:D

  • OS: Windows XP SP2
  • Processor: Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or better)
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Hard Drive: 18GB free hard disk space
  • Video Card: 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible with Shader
  • Drive: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
I got the source from here

good god I haven't seen a space requirement like that since Vanguard: Saga of Heroes which is about 17gbs on install with about 5-6gbs worth of patches.

Thank god my 320gb HD is getting here Tuesday.

Yes, hdd's are getting cheaper, and most people here are accustomed to having a separate hdd for gaming only, (the lucky ones), so it's really no biggie. But is vista mandatory or what?

Vista is dynamic, it can be installed easily on a 20GB HDD and only use 7GB, where as when its on a 250GB drive, it uses about 15GB.

Damnit, my RAID drive for games is only 160GB....i guess I'll uninstall Spore to make room, it sucks anyways.

Wow, that's pretty demanding for a game. Considering GTA is a "gameplay" game, where gameplay matters the most, they should really optimize it to run on lower settings.

What do you think about my specs? How will they handle it?
AMD Athlon x2 5000+
ATI HD 3650 512 mb OC Edition
2 GB RAM 800 Mhz
Windows Vista Ultimate

Maybe medium... or high @25 fps?

It will run on Vista. The Radeon HD3650 should be o.k to run it, considering these are recommended requirements, and not minimum requirements.

Right thanks.
Althrough I am a bit worried about this:

(in that article, they say it's been announed on the official site; this is the official site:confused:)

Considering it runs on the Xbox 360 and PS3, the minimums won't be spectacular. I would say if your comp can run Crysis on low then it should run this on low.
