After I was playing crysis on a bigger screen with a higher resolution I moved my computer too my screen and now every time i start the game it says "Resolution cannot be displayed" I really want to play. Please help.

I couldn't choose the right one sorry, but anyway the problem is that i need to change the resolution of the game without being in the game.

apart from opening with the bigger screen again and then changing, there is quite possibly a config file you can change. Like the cod4 one you can find and edit in notepad and chance the settings. Not sure where the crysis one would be though.

Yeah i've searched for a couple hours on google but no luck.
When i type "resolution" with "crysis" it always comes up with someone talking about how awesome it looks with high res or how much it strains their system.

Are you running the correct resolution for your monitor, i.e. your monitor's native resolution?

No, thats his problem. He cant open the game in order to change the res cos it wont start at the res its set to.

Ohh...okay. You may be able to add that resolution (like kuz stated) to the system.cfg file. That file should be located somewhere within the Crysis program files folder. My wife jacked my main pc, so I can't exactly tell you where or how, atm. :o

can't find a file named system.cfg

Browse to your Crysis\Game\ folder and select the lowspec.cfg file. Change the r_width value to 1024 and the r_length value to 768. Save the file and see if you can access the game. It's just a guess, so I don't know if it will work.

plug it back up to the big screen and chang it :P? Have you tried starting the game in windowed mode? (I think you can also change the resolution possibly by right clicking the icon and changing the command line)

I would check into it now, but I'm on my phone, not pc :(

It was already set really low to 800 x 600 so I'm sure it wouldn't matter. Thanks for the help anyway though, I ended up just hooking it up to the T.V. and changing it their. =D
O yah and I couldnt reply last night because I had to go to bed for school at 1:00.
Hehe and I'm about to have to go to work in 30min.
