get your nehalem/core i7

limited quantity, too bad i don't have 1k lying around, would only cost 1k for processor, mobo, and 6gb's of ddr3

Aren't these supposed to have 8 cores?

you guys may think im a bit of a noob asking this, but why are intel and amd pushing to get loads of core in a chip? ok get to 8 core then leave it at that for a while. personly i think they should be pushing so speed. i mean, as far as i know they isn't any programs that use even 4 core not alone 8, so why bother?

Yes that's true, but speed was what was worked on ever since the creation of the CPU, now having multiple cores are what they are pushing. Hopefully software programmers will soon take advantage of having multiple cores.

Plus with if more and more computers have 'multiple cores', then applications will therefore will be written for 'multiple cores'.
